Although the picture is a little antiquated, it still is one of my favorites. Nursing no longer is simply hand holding but still very much encompasses the comfort and grace that this picture portrays.
My mom was a nurse and a midwife in Afghanistan. She was also trained as a surgical nurse, but loved the maternity and delivery ward the most. I'll have to give her a hug when I see her this weekend.
I found you thru kbl 2 ord 2 san, and want to tell you that I LOVE nurses! I was just visiting our Children's Hospital today, bringing quilts and hats to the Hematology-Oncology ward. Our daughter was treated there last year. She passed away in August, but we still love our doctors and nurses who cared for her so lovingly through her treatment, surgery and recovery. NURSES DO ROCK. Thanks for all you do.
OMG, when I've been in the hospital having babies, I have loved my nurses sooooo much. The doctor is there for 2 minutes a day, and the nurses are there for 23 hours 58 minutes a day. I liked the sweet motherly ones and the brisk efficient ones and the bossy in-charge ones. I think any of those nurses could have done my doctor's job, and better. But let's not tell my doctor I said so.
