Bath Time

For Wordless Wednesday, we have the budda having a bath. Anyone want to rub the lucky belly? Any suggestions for weightloss in a cat already on diet food and fairly active?

She must be feeling better

So Princess P must be feeling better- she is throwing herself ontop of me for loves and landing on the bad wing. Every so often she seems to be a little careful but overall seems to be better.
On a different note, my laptop has decided to give up on its wireless connection. No problems with the router or the modem (having thoughts of Ewe in England) but actually a malfunction of my wireless card. After 2 hours on the phone with Costa Rica and a very nice gentleman, it has been determined that the computer must be fed exed to customer support and most likely get a new motherboard. That leaves me with the dinosaur desktop......
Yet another topic- Tommy, my downs syndrome patient, who was heartbroken to be in the hospital at Halloween, came in for a check up today. After a miserable morning of bitchy patients and physicians, his genuinely happy soul made the above bad news much easier to take. He sang "Climb Every Mountain" to me and the rest of my office. He made my day....

Monday Morning 3am

I was awakened on monday morning at 3am by a loud bump and then the cat making a noise I had never heard before- it was a sound of helpless pain. A sound that would break your heart.

The best I can fiqure out is that she rolled off the bed in her sleep and landed on her bad wing. I scooped her up off the floor and put her on the bed next to me. After an hour of her carrying on, we went to the emergency vet. I walked into the vet a limp sobbing mess... After xrays, iv fluids, and pain medicine, it would seem that she has fractures the arm socket of the bad wing. They wrapped her in ace bandages and let me bring her home. My friends have gratiously been sitting with her when I at work to make sure she is ok. Hopefully, thursday the bandages will be taken off and she will feel more like herself. For now, she spends alot of time on the couch trying to chew off the bandages. She clearly is doing better- she gets off the couch to eat and use the box but she is insecure and unsure of herself. She feels better with human company.

The dreaded Meme

I have been tagged by my friend Slouching Mom to do the Meme of 7 random things about Moi.
Here we go:

1. I was driving home from work several years ago when a woman opened her front door and her cat darted under the front wheels of my car. I was devestated and stopped the car to check the cat and talk to the poor devestated woman. The cat was dead, I cried like a baby and could not stop apologizing to the poor lady. I sent her flowers the next morning.

2. I hate trying on clothes and have gotten into the bad habit of just purchasing and waiting to try items on until I am home. This is not a good plan with my rather odd shaped body. I have clothes with tags on them in my closet that did not fit when I got them home and was too lazy to take them back.

3. I have a headset for my home phone because I spend hours each night on the phone with my friend Jenn BSing and going over schoolwork. I was coming close to dislocating my neck trying to hold the phone in place by cricking my neck.

4. I collect spoons. It started with the collection my grandmother left me and i have continued to add to it. There are spoons from state fairs and I am sure quite valuable.

5. I always name my car and they are always male. Timothy the Toyota, Jeremy the Jetta, Thomas the Toyota, Nicholas the Neon, and Mr Tumnus the Nissan Sentra.....

6. My second bedroom is really a glorified storage closet. It is a disaster, again...... Last year I had it straightened out and neat- now the disaster has taken over again.

7. I have to watch the national news for at least 1o minutes every day. This usually is in the form of MSNBC. I also have to scan the New York Times, my local paper, and my hometown paper daily online.

Not sure how exciting this is for you all but it gives you a window into my warped world.
